Registering through a Lifeblood Donor Centre
Another way your blood can save a life
If you’re a blood donor aged 18-35, you have the unique opportunity to register as a potential stem cell donor through our longest-standing partner, Lifeblood, when you next give blood.
Stem cell donation is different from blood donation. Joining our registry makes you available as a match for someone in need, with stem cell donation only happening if you’re matched at a later date.
Stem cell donors can offer a life-saving cure for patients facing blood cancers and disorders, and you could be the one to make that difference when it’s needed most.

How to register via Lifeblood
Registering as a stem cell donor through your blood donation is an easy process and this is how it works:
1. Enrol online
First step is to enrol online by clicking Begin your enrolment anywhere on this page.
You can do this before your Lifeblood appointment or while you’re in the waiting room.
2. Tell the staff you'd like to become a stem cell donor
On arrival for your appointment with Lifeblood, let them know you’d like to become a stem cell donor.
They’ll ask you to scan a QR code and show them your completed enrolment.
3. Provide a blood sample during your appointment
While you’re giving blood, Lifeblood will take a small blood sample. This sample lets us match your genetic type to any patient in need.
4. Wait to be matched
Stem cell donation takes place when you’re matched with a patient.
Just sit back, relax and if you’re lucky enough to be matched, we’ll call you!
