Iain Stewart - stem cell donor
“Realistically, it probably took two days out of my life for all the communication, blood tests, check-ups, and the final donation. I had imagined prior to the process that it would be a lot more involved.”

“I joined the registry for the same reason I donate blood plasma: to give back to someone in need. I’m fortunate to lead a healthy lifestyle and have a body that recovers easily. Not everyone is so lucky. If I can help someone without it significantly impacting my life, it’s a no-brainer.”
“When I got the news that I was the one, that was the most incredible day, one I will never forget. I was speechless, beyond delighted, and couldn’t stop thinking about the recipient and how amazing it would be for them to find out they had found a match. ”
I was back to the gym the next day and back to work the next day, it really doesn’t take too much of a toll on your body. If you are able to donate look into it, do your research, find out why it’s important and then sign up. 110 percent I would do it again in a heartbeat.
